Blog Thinking

I have not found an overview of developments in the Web Logs or Blogs that has adequately covered the range of developments underway. So, I have been composing my own. Visit this page titled Blog Thinking for the latest edition.

Somehow blogs seem like a one legged stool. They help people clarify and refine their personal voices. Important, necessary, but missing something. I've included some information on wiki's in this piece because I think they are another leg of this stool but I'm missing the perspective yet on what overarching concept and system will pull these and other communication elements together. Blogs are a step to a higher level, but what will the next level look like?

COMMUNITY OF INTERACTING THOUGHTS IN ONE’S OWN HEAD

Blogging based on and interacting with ICT and other users (as never before in human knowledge processes) helps very much to the individual
to create,
organize,
develop,
retrieve,
combine,
convert etc. INFORMATION PIECES and KNOWLEDGE – explicit, and also tacit –

to evolve one’s knowledge space – a particle of eternal knowledge universe.

The Individual Blogspace means evolving quantity and quality of blogs which are more or less opened to team/collaborators/stakeholders/everyone. Before e-blogging, we had to write down something on tens and hundreds pieces of paper (items from books, journals, newspapers, from sources available in libraries etc.). We had to create notes necessary for papers, reports, databases containing thoughts and citations of authors, scientists, colleagues and many others.

The Web-enabled KNOWLEDGE ACADEMIES are on agenda. With blogs for PERSONAL DATABASES and PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT.

Tom, you are right that personal information can come back to bite blogger in terms of identity theft, harassment, reputation endangering mistakes in grammar and logic and more.
Knowledge evolves in one’s own head and every decides what to do.

3D Leaps Forward

We work and play in a three dimensional world. We jump into 2 dimensional space for our textual and photographic information and most of our compositions. Creating in 3D used to mean sculpting rock, clay and other media. In digital environments, it also meant significant costs for software and hardware to create 3D images.
